Title: THOUGHTFUL EYES
Name: Hasan Ali Akhtar
Country: Pakistan
Software: Photoshop

Hi to all..I was working on my latest Digital painting named as THOUGHTFUL EYES and have finished it today..Actually I wanted to attain that dreamy and soft look in a portrait..Thats why gave it a dreamy look..I really enjoyed working on it but yeah as u all know its really very hard to get your desired strokes as well as brush effects with a mouse but somehow managed to get that desired look by the grace of God..I have used a reference of a Kate Winslet's pic and then just gave my desired strokes there to have that look which I wanted to achieve there. I will show u those things in my WIPs..It took a lot of time to get good results..I hope u people will really like it..Comments and suggestions are always welcome..Take carez all..God bless u all..Keep smiling

SOFTWARE USED: Adobe Photoshop CS + Mouse [No Wacom]

nice try but it seems like lot more work is needed.

crit: IMO.parts look like pasted and do not blend, like brows, lashes, hair. strange bend of hair at right effects the formation of the forehead (pushing it in). skin looks very plain and flat and so does the light. her nose looks huge.

keep working and sharing. good luck.

All Kudos to you for going at this with a mouse. There's a lot of work gone into the eyes. The rest of the picture doesn't seem to have had equal focus. It feels a little bit as if elements were worked on seperately, almost as if the face, eyebrows, lips and hair are all on seperate layers. It's almost there.

I think if take a break and you go back to this piece in a couple of weeks you'll see where you need to take it.

Nice work though.

Hi Peter..Hmm well yeah I do agree on things which u have mentioned there but I have pointed out this thing in the description that its a dreamy look so it can be made like that..I hope u can understand my point of view there..In dreamz u can only see few highlights and shadows but I have given that depth to it for the precise presentation of it which is needed..And to me nose is good a lil long but I have achieved that thing which I wanna achieved in that..Highly appreciate ur comments..Will keep those valuable points in my mind for realism workings..Thanks alot..Take carez..God bless u..Cheers:)

so "dreamy look" is a license to do whatever one wants to. that is all right then. but then i dont see any point in asking for comments and suggestions in the description. strange approach.

okaiee be happy.

Hi Hasan,

I can barely remember back when I had nothing but the mouse to work in Photoshop, painful indeed. Did you start with a pencil drawing? I think if you start with a drawing you can work some of the anatomical details a little more and further refine it once you bring it into the computer. Good Luck.

Hi Jose..Thank u so much for ur comments..Highliy appreciated Sir..Well no I havnt sketched it on paper..Directly made a shape first wid a pen tool and then just worked further on it on photoshop..I had planned to to sketch it first but then decided against it cuz of the time..Well highly appreciate ur comments and suggestions..Will keep those precious points for my next painting indeed..So nice of u..Take carez..God bless u..Keep smiling:)

Hi Hasan,

I really like the biotipe from character, the nose shape and eyes are very beautyfull but i have to agree that some parts from the painting are way too "hard", looking like you paste after the work was done.

In portraits, a kind of tip is also try to "Mirror" the image, just to check the simetry of the face.
