ohh, i really like these. especially that last one--it has a marvelous sense of light to it. the first one, i like as well, but not so much the middle.

WOW! I love the last one! The orc could use a little work on the face (the orange might be throwing it off), and Bermuda is really great! :thumbsup:

Thanks for the comments! I really think the people here have some great talent in the field of 2D graphics!

Probably these pics don't have enough 'coolness factor' to raise more debate though ;)




I definitely agree that the last pic (Lakeside) is the best one.

The Bermuda pic started as an experiment after I bought a new Wacom Intuos pad. The Orc too was created in few hours one evening. But with the Lakeside I took my first real attempt at painting a somewhat detailed landscape. I'm becoming real interested about matte/background painting and I have few new pics in the making. They're more like concept art now, photorealism wasn't my goal.


Once again, I'd really appreciate any opinions. Even if you think they're just lame or something ;)

gr8 stuff mikko, i can definatly see the mullins influence here.
u could even afford more light shafting thru the forest scene and on to the orc head, this will make it look cool as u can use the light rendering parts of the head with shadows of leaves and highlights and glow u know the score, u can jus take it further. plus more light will allow his skin to show more texture, oh the potential...

Yeah, your're absolutely right with the orc.
The forest is not so finished. It would definitely need more 'glow' to it.

Sometimes when I do these kind of pics I really become blind to their faults and downsides. When I look at them later I see what I should've changed. I didn't do it with these pics 'cause I already feel I could do better in every way.
