I've just installed my new graphics tablet (MD 41217 - with the brand name Tevion - driver version 3.08) and found that pressure doesn't seem to come up in photoshop.

The previous threads on this subject just say to restart the program/sesssion etc. I've done that and I've not found any change.

Is there an option that you have to turn on and if so where is it?

Did you first checked your table manufacturer's website? Maybe there is an FAQ or support related site :)

I recommend un-installing PS3, and CS1 2 or what ever extra version you have and re-installing it along with your tablet drivers in the sequence of drivers, then PS3. This is how I got mine back up and running.

It could also just be the tablet too.
Having never heard of that tablet before I did a search for it with google.
Little information is available on it, and it seems that of all places to sell tablets, Aldis sells them. Yeah the supermarket.
The driver might not work well with Photoshop. So Photoshop might not even know it's a tablet. It might see it as nothing more than a basic HID device like a mouse or trackball.

What I saw on google was people talking about how this tablet wasn't doing well in Linux. They say it has Aiptek insides, which is another cheap tablet.

You're lucky this is the only problem you're having.
Several people had problems getting it installed under XP. Once they got it installed, the system refused to shut down normally. Even when it worked for them, it only worked for a little while and still not 100% regarding tracking and accuracy.
That being said, and if it's true, that makes the tablet almost worthless. If it's prone to having the cursor jump around or jitter how can someone rely on it for their work?

The general attitude with those people on the "Aldi/Medion support forums" was you get what you pay for.

I know it gets said alot, but the only tablets that seem to be truly reliable are Wacoms.
I'd rather have a small tablet area on a good tablet than a bad tablet with alot of usable area.
Do you know anyone else who has one of these tablets properly functioning in Photoshop? Heard of anyone on the web using one with success?
You might want to check with Adobe to see if PS will even recognize pressure from that tablet.

If I were you, I'd return that tablet and get the money back. Throw the money in a jar and keep adding to it when possible until you got enough to get a Wacom.
Even a 4x5 Graphire would do. I think they're only like $99 US for a Graphire3.
My first tablet was the original Graphire 4x5. I made it work as far as the size went. Wasn't that big of a deal. Now I have an Intuos3 A4 size and at first it was a strange transition having been used to the Graphire.

Good luck....

I used to have that exact same tablet, and pressure sensitivity never worked in cs2 though it did work in cs1.
