Ok, here's the pictures

Quite good indeed!!! Nice colors and interesting mood!!!
A few color and luminance corretions and it´s rocking!!!
The only thing I would change is the sky, but just because it lacks resolution!

Good Work lmdk, and we´re waiting for more:thumbsup:

Great color scheme. I'd play with Levels on these trees, they look a bit flat ;)

thanx for all

yes for the luma and chroma corrections (the trees)

the sky ? yes, i know for the resolution, but the only ressource i have is this (http://australiasevereweather.com/photography/)

just 700*500 pix and too much grain : (

did you know other ressources (wall clouds is better for me)

Looks promising! I'm glad that you did lighten the sky back up a bit on the animation test, as my problem with darkening it too much was that while it does make for more drama in the image, it made it seem less earthly to me, which IMO conflicts with the goal of "alien presence in a familiar, earthly place".

On the plus side, you *have* to hide alien things in those holes! I loved that source shot all by itself, and I'm glad you kept that part of it. When I was living in Vegas, there were all kinds of rocks with holes like that, which hinted at some sort of weird "windows"... unfortunately, nearly all the shots I took of those were with a 640x480 digicam, on the assumption of doing animations with video... but not good enough for this challenge. D'oh!

I like the animation a lot!!
It has depth!!!!
The sky is a lot better (... the lack of resolution is not so noticed), i can´t say if it is the sun ligth, witch draws my attention from the rest, or, if it is due to the size of the preview!!!
Anyway i think it´s quite good:thumbsup:
About the pictures, i haven´t found any particular picture of skies, but in www.photo.net you have lots of exelent pictures from landscapes, 1000*500( try the TRAVEL or GALLERY links). Maybe you can find, in one of those, a sky that suits your final goal!!!
If not, try asking STRIKE, he found one hell of sky picture!:)
Keep the exelent work!

Very good start, i really like it a lot
but
there are some things i don't like.
First: the contrast on the background layer is too much, more than on the foreground, the mid layer (the trees i mean) doesn't match... looks like some stain or something
Second: the rock on the backround is sliding on the animation
but still
