CGTalk - Playback In Maya

I have a simple piece of geomotry, a path that goes around it and a camera that i have attached to the path. I have grouped the camera and all that fun stuff. I have my settings to playback everyframe but when i hit the play button or try to scrub...YUCK...I get like 1 frame every couple of seconds..Please help.

I'm working on a P4 1.7 with 384 megs of ram
and a GF 4 TI 4600

Any ideas guys?

Thats your problem, you should have it set to whatever your frame rate is not play every frame.

ohhhhhhhh that made it way worse, now it plays 2 frames then skips 24 frames

You should have a large file before you have scrubbing problems. What else is going on in your scene? There must be something else going on, your system is way too powerful to have this problem.
