Is it good or bad to use three sided polys? I'm modeling a character to be animated. I don't want to go to animate him down the road and find out that I shouldn't have used them. I have one friend that swears that I will have bad deformation and another that says that it doesn't matter. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance

Is the whole thing in trianles? If it's mostly quads and just a single triangle here and there it might workjust fine, exept if you have triangles in critical deformation areas. What might happen is that the deformation gets ugly and you get unwanted folds and stretches. Another thing to be aware of is that when texturing triangles and pentagons you might get a difficult stretch in the texture, and pentagons might also pop when deforming.
