CgTalk Daily Sketch 1100 NTL "Lone violinist"

Aw, this topic has an awful lot in common with a drawing I've been working on for quite som time http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/6827/anywhereis3sh7.jpg . To bad I can't use that, so I tried to make a new drawing with the same figure. I actually think it came about quite well, though I do miss the "bigness" of the other drawing.

Hi !

The topic really inspired me...
I made a drawing a while ago on almost the same thing, but to respect the rules, I slightly changed the composition of the picture and the attitude of the character for this challenge.
I also gave my-self a time limit, even if there was not -because I have also a lots of work waiting to me beside :-)
So the painting was made in approximately 2 hours on Photoshop with the brand new ragged Hard Roundbrush of Martha Dalig ! (thanks Martha !!)




I'm still not satisfyed with the features of her face and something isn’t quite ok in the contrast and low key… but I guess that with two days more working on this picture, it might be a not so bad one…




Any critics welcome !

The violin is in an unusual position but is correct for the hillbilly way of playing.

the chair wasnt supposed to be there and the neck was fading in the dark.. but then I added it at the last moment and forgot about it..oh well :rolleyes: might spend a few minutes later and do it
