CGTalk - Simple translation question

I want to always use local translation on my control objects. For some reason my settings return to "view" translation mode. How can this be set to stay the way I want it?

Select the object, and do Get > Property > Transform Setup. In the ppg, you can set the object to switch to whatever transformation mode on whatever axes you want each time you select the object.

That was starting to get to me.

I also was wondering about the fcurve editor. It doesn't save my preferences when I exit XSI. Any info on that?
