Regarding hands: Hands are expressive as face, and making a little bit "bigger" enhances the expression of the character. Of course, it's just my opinion... :)

Lord, you 2d artists are superb! The color of the skin tone is perfect. I'm quite amazed. Although, I do feel the right hand finger tips look a bit fat. That's nit picking compared to the full piece though...congrats X 10.

You say it is all done with PS and Painter, well I say it is all done with an incredible amount of craftmanship...:eek:


The expression is very catchy and the pose of the left hand graceful in a classical way. The leaves work like ornaments on the figure as well as on the tree and the whole background keeps a nice balance between fuzzyness and detail.

Only thing that really disturbs me is not the hand itself, but her whole right arm - it's incredibly long. Considering she already lifted her shoulder on that side up and the elbow is slightly bent the arm would reach much too far down to her knee if fully relaxed, imo.

I dont mind the size of the end but have few things i would expect to see from a such detailed job: the first thing that catch my eyes is the right hand, the top part of the hand and especially the knuckles area are distorted (dont match the rotation of the hand/fingers). The be more precise what bother is the highlights from the fill light (yellow/orange light from screen right). And second you coould add a lil bit more shape to the arm generally which appears a bit too simplistic (read tubular) compared with the amount of detail u have else where). Apart from that is a great piece of art.

STUNNING, as usual, Melanie! But like several posters here, I'm a wee bit bothered by the arm. Everything else is so perfectly proportioned, it's hard to accept the distortion in the arm. If there was meant to be slightly heightened perspective, which is my sense, it would be reflected in the background too. But I'll tell you, that small 'fault' is NOTHING compared to your brilliant attention to detail and color sense! You leave us all in your dust....your realism is top-notch! :thumbsup: I adore the corset and the left hand, toying with the necklace.

Really beautiful! If I can offer some criticism, it's that the right arm looks slightly disproportionate to the rest of her, but not in that good Michelangelo's David kind of way... Also, the composition is somewhat leaning towards the right side of the frame, however, this is a really minor nitpick.

Otherwise it's great! Beautiful use of color, evocative backround (very Da Vinci!), nice detail and texture... The texture in her clothing reminds me of Linda Bergkvist's work.

The picture in that subtle atmosphere, those deep colors and soft light makes the whole image beautiful.
I would still change the hands; the position of the hand in the chest is too rude, and the entire arm & hand at the front it's a little too big for her body. I would make it thinner. So it seems like it doesn't belong to that body. But that changes are just to make the picture perfect. I find it so beautiful anyway.
It was the first image to call my attention so much that i wanted to express inmediately my appreciation for your outstanding work.

By the elbow of her arm, (The one thats on the left) it looks a little bit on the funny side...My mother said that the arm looked somewhat, deformed? And that it doesn't look like it belongs to her lol...But everything else is beautiful! Love the art! Keep more coming! :)
