I absolutely love what you have done. Very inspirational. I love the look and feel of it all. I remember watching the commercial on TV and thinking it was done on C4D. Glad to see that it was. Keep up the great work!

Gregiore,
Excellent! The staging and framing, timing, great work.
For length and content, I like 2 and 3, being tighter, and having more time focusing on some features. Movie 1, while interesting from a technical and C4D standpoint, would make a better tradeshow looped piece than an ad. There is a lot of the bots making the Helio (half the ad, and the buyer would be waiting to find out what does this mean to me), and paying for TV ad time (if that's the primary venue) there would be a little less bang for the buck to get to the features. For a trade show, it gives time for passersby to notice and get drawn in to the action.
The two short pieces are right up there with major campaign executions! Nice work!

Joseppi:
In fact the spot 1 was originaly done for something like a looped animation for shows I guess, but as Helio like the animation it then becomes the Ocean tv spot.
There's also a 30scd version of spot 1, using the part of the spot that focus on the device.
Personaly I feel like even if the product comes late in the 60s spot, the general atmosphere sets in the first part is also what made the second part interesting, it introduce the characters and drag you in their "world" + spot 1 is also an introduction for spot 2 & 3.
Btw, I forgot to say that almost all the particles were done with TrapcodeParticular in after effects.

It's all good, but the particles are absolutely great. Good job.

Excellent work.
Really what comes across for me is the warm feeling you get from the spot.. sound cheesy? :)
Everything ties in so well with the audio. Great look and feel.
Really gets my kids attention when they see it.

Joe
Gregoire,
I wanted to clarify, email loses some of the meaning... All three pieces are the same high quality. I don't mean to imply the first was of lessor quality. When you said "just finished" and "crits/comments" I didn't know the ads were already running! I could see you doing the work, then when a company goes to pay for air time, they balk at the 60 second rates. So I was commenting the 30 sec spots would be more of a sure thing, but great that they are ALL getting air time, congrats!
Nice to see Helio then went for the longer form ad placements after the planned tradeshow use and to see time saved for more setup and developement. That must be gratifying!

Really nicely done!
The characters have a charming Rustboy quality to them and the particle effects are integrated very well. I noticed these right away when I saw them a week or so ago on the tube. Congratulations!

Brilliant. The little guy at the end, spinning the final logo and running off, caps it off perfectly.

robotbob:
I don't know precisely how much time I spent on each one, but from the first character concept drawing for spot 1 to the very very last post production correction on spot 3, the three animations took me about 5 - 6 months.
Joseppi:
No problem, I didn't take it at all like if you were saying that spot one was bad.
Yes the fact that Helio went for a 60s tv spot and for 2 other spots was very gratifying + they really trusted me on the design and realisation which was really great.
Other thing I forgot to say: All the rig were done using Cactus Dan fantastic plugins.

Did you JUST finish--or did you finish a month or so ago? Those spots have been running here in the US (at least in my area) for about 3 weeks or so.
I was totally blown away when I first saw it.
Really great work!!!--and happy to know it was done in c4d.
Someone might want to plug this--front page material IMO.

Nice to see c4d being used in this way, especially the particle stuff, great work mate..

Very nice in many different ways. Fantastic to have a client who is prepared to give you the time and space to do a project like this on your own. I particularly liked the smokey/plasma-like particle effects - how many particles did you need to get something that smooth? Did you do all the particle work in C4D or in post?
tylerdurden369

99% of the particles effects were done with trapcode particular in after effects, it was much more faster and easier to do this in postprod.
"how many particles did you need to get something that smooth?"
I have oftenly used the maximum particles trapcode can offer which is 200'000 - and duplicate the effects on three separate layers with small different physics behavior (so, 600'000 particles at the end).

Thanks - from my limited experiments at making whispy smoke I guessed it would take a lot of particles. That tip about particular is a nice idea, and I guess you can just hide two of your particle layers to get a quicker preview. I don't know if Trapcode Flux is going to help with this sort of thing.

Nothing really special, just a lot of small particles with some turbulence and litlle velocity.
Maybe you can learn from this too:
