Hello,
I have download two different rigged models of a rider and motorbike for my college project and was wondering how do I combine the two into the same scene. I normally use merge, but the physiques get all messed up when I combine the two both ways from bike scene merging to rider scene and vice versa, like so:

So If anyone how to merge the two rigged models with no ill effects then I would be gladly appreciated and would be put in my project team list

Daz,

Apart form Merging, have you tried to import the other .3DS Files into your scene. I'm not sure if they changed the functionality of the import and merging since I've worked in Max in Version 7 but that might work.

Or you could export the Other files as an .OBJ or another format and import that way too, that might bypass the funkyness of the files.

Hope this helps, Good luck to ya!

I would start by first processing each motorcycle and driver as separate file.
"Tools\Rename Objects" is a big help.

Give each driver and bike a different prefix. bike1_partX, bike1_partY, driver1_xx and so on.
do this for each of the bike and driver pairs. Then merge bikes and drivers into same scene. You shouldn't have any problems.
I would recommend using skin modifier instead of physique. As it easier to use and work with.

Hope this helps!
