Ok, so im working on a matte painting at the moment, and you will be able to see the sea in Midground to Background area. I am doing the matte to a high standard and taking a lot of time over it, so I would like to make an animation from it.
My question is, what is the best way to go about putting water in the matte? Should I be doing a water simulation, should I get some live action footage of water, or...?

I have no compositing experience. I just finished my first year of a Digital Visual Effects degree, but we dont go into effects and compositing until the second year, so i thought id turn to you guys for some help.

Look forward to any replies. Thanks!

Nick

Ok, thanks umesh, I am going away to Greece next month, so I will gather a load of footage of the sea there and do some compositing when I get back. I got no idea how I will go about doing that, but I can deal with that later :)

Thanks for the suggestion

Nick
