View Full Version : No Inherent Links on grouped objects?
PokeChop 03-18-2003, 12:54 PM So I have these grouped objects being pulled around by a single object and when I go to turn off Rotation Inherent Links there are no settings. Blanked out, not there. If I go back in and attach all the grouped objects into one single object, bam Inherent Links is back.
Is this the way Inherent Links has always worked? You can only Inherent Link a single object and not grouped objects?
Thanks...

I have noticed that a few days ago also.
Seems that this should be the normal way  .

I haven't tested it, but it sounds plausible groups aren't constrainable. Groups have always been odd in MAX.. idunno.
You can link objects instead though, just link all the objects to the one control-object, and wammo-bammo, you can constrain the objects as you see fit.
Or attach them all together of couse, if the situation allows that then sure, that sounds like the cleanest solution.
