View Full Version : Ink `n Paint material question
Hi all,
I need to have ink (black outline) on every face of my object, ie. make a box with 3 segm height and want to have every face outlined. I know this can be done by playing with matId or smoothing groops, but I need more elegant solution.
Thanx in advance,
Dare

Could you use the Wire setting in the shader settings? Ie. try and duplicate your object, apply a wire'ed material to it, and apply a "push" modifier set to some tiny number. The idea is to push all the verticies outwards so the wire lines starts to show up.
This could solve your problem?
There is a more elegant solution to the wire-thing, using a gradient-ramp as far as I can remember.. I.. don't remember the specifics though hm.. do a search on the forum? Or maybe someone else remembers..
Thanx Gaggle,
your solution works fine, except you can not vary the width of the line..... like when you use variable width in the ink parameters rollout ....
I`ll try to find something on that gradient ramp-wire issue.
