View Full Version : AE puppet animation.
Here's my latest silly animation. I just a hack/newbie but with bruteforce and ignorance I usually get the job done. I should probably visit this forum more often.
I did not composite the final audio/visual so there is a bit of a synching problem. No time or budget.

works well !
if you haven't tried it yet, I recommend using dan ebbert's expressions to implement simple ik (it's a pain in the butt to implement, I plan on working on a UI for it this summer if AEcs3 doesn't make it obsolete):

Oh my God!
That would be amazing! I'm a scripting moron. I've gotta get over my phobia.
I will pour over Dan's site.
Thank you soo much.

Dan's first IK is here:

But the new-improved version is here:

It's soooo... much easier to setup.
I am so glad I came to this forum. Thanks yikes. Gonna make me a hero.
Woot!
Hey guys, I have another commercial to do, a deadline and no time to learn everything I need to know. The Puppet IK stuff worked like a charm, even for a knucklehead like me.
Now I've got a new problem. I have attached a .gif of the storyboard that follows the same look and feel as the last one. I think that I can puppeteer the two characters, but manually flying 2500 cars (or the appearance of such) out of the screen seems a bit daunting. I don't even know the terminology for the effect to ask for. I am assuming that some sort of particle system that can reference layers randomly would be useful, but all the particle effects tutorials I have seen use AE created objects.
I realize that I will have to animate the 30 or so individual cars that envelop the OG, but the stream of cars that spew from the monitor would be cool. Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

trapcode particular has the ability to use randomly sampled frames from a layer as the individual particles, so should do what you want.
