We try to combine a face mocap from mmotion builder and a boned face character in C4d 10

Hey Thomas,
From your post it sounds like you have some facial animation mocap in MB and you want to target it to the bones in your characters face?
Should be doable, you'll probably need to set up some constraints to have the mocap joints drive your characters face bones.
Can you post a little more info on what specificaly your trying to setup or a screen shot? Or shoot me an email if you'd like.

On a different note, I haven't had a chance to post it but it seems I've found a way to export joints from c4d, animate in MB, reimport the split hierarchy and be able to retarget the animation with no problem.
