Sorry about that. I was updating the page a little, and moved some directories around and accidentaly deleted it. My web host doesn't support straight linking to images, so I had to quickly write the tiny html file. It should be going fine now. Colt (http://lachlan.web1000.com/colt_test.htm) .
Or else you can get to it through the gallery page. Gallery (http://lachlan.web1000.com/gallery.htm)

Ohh dear, what if you try going through the website front page>then gallery and its in there. Link (http://lachlan.web1000.com)
At least I was able to access to that image using your that first link. Link should be ok.
But about your car:
Did you bang your car something like 100 times with baseball bat before making that rendering or why it is so bumpy!!! :shame: That car should better ride inside destruction derby arena than public highway.
Make your mesh much smoother and better defined. That is what you should do now and then go on with materials and rendering. If you send new image with improved clean mesh, then it will be easier to evaluate whole model and details.

I will work on simplifying the mesh, so that it will smooth better. Is there a way that I can select verticies, and smooth them but without adding detial like meshsmooth does?

There is now a wireframe image and one smoothed. I fixed the roof a little but please criticise it as much as possible. If there is something you think it just a little bit wrong, please tell me:D Link (http://lachlan.web1000.com/colt_test.htm)

yeah, link works now.
i´m no good with cars so i cant comment on how much it looks like the original. but like someone pointed out it DOES looks rather beat up. the only way to avoid that stuff when using sub-ds is to use as little as possible. too bad i cant see the wire.

I thought Dodge made the Colt... :)

I have been working for a while welding verticies, trying to make it simpler. So far it has been good, smoothing out better. Could you please comment on the mesh and how I could impove it - thanks:)

I've made the mesh much less detailed, and now it smooths better.

Mitsubishi made the colt for Dodge (MCA). Then when Dodge lost interest, they put thier own name on it. Then everyone lost interest.....I've seen this same model with both names on it.

I think that this was called the mirage in Japan, when they first started making it, and then they changed it to colt for australia. Now you can only get mirages new. But I hear that they are going to make the new mirages but badge them as colts. Swish.

I have now decided to give the car a spoiler and body kit, because mine is too plain.

What do you think? Ohh - its no where near finished either. :)

I have fond memories of Mitsubishi Colts. One of my best friends had a yellow GSR when I was at uni, they are almost indestructible.

Woohoo. Well mine is only a GL, but I saw a red gsr in the carpark and wanted it so bad. Ahh gsr :airguitar
Hehe I own a colt myself.
Not this model, but the next one. (1.6 16v 113bhp. for your info)
I'm pretty satisfied with it, runs like a train!
But you want some crits about YOUR colt I think..
Well I think you should get rid of those nasty folds.
Esp. above the wheels and headlights!
Good luck!

Mine is a 1.6l aswell. To get rid of the folds, what is the best way to do it? Should I champher the edges of the wheel rim? Is that the best method or is there another way?

I hope you understand my sketch.
Try to model it as clean as you can and try to avoid triangles!
Maybe it's best to look very critical to your mesh and don't be shy to delete some poly's and build them up again from scratch.
The wheelcase edge shouldn't be very round (to the inside I mean) so move the inner-edgeloop more to the outer.
So meshsmooth should make it round, but not effect the general shape of the edge.
Good luck with this one!

Ok thank you for that - I will work on it. I have been deleting tons of polys and neatening it up. You should have seen it a few days ago. It was a mess.

I decided to keep on going with this model, in some spare time and I think its getting better. I read a few articles on meshsmooth, and am understanding it a bit better now. I remodelled a few parts, trying to keep mostly quads and here is it so far.
Also, is there a way to lower the overall reflection of the default max material Chrome white? Because i wanted to use it for the wheels, but it is too reflective. Thanks
