Details here of a sort-
http://www.kino3d.com/~MakeHuman/

My last dowload of this was version 12 now it at version 13

Use the "Volumetric Hair" link at the to-left side of the screen.

There you will find the Fiber Script ver. 1.3.

You will find some interesting hair render test images to download.

He (Ripsting) used the MakeHuman Gui for his Fiber Script.

no, Manuel is working on a tool for humanoid modelling using anatomical data.
However he was trying to do volumetric hair for his characters and he put up a tut on that site to do it with textures.

RipSting a python and Blender Guru you may cross in these regions has made a fiber generator plugin which handles wind (you define wind direction and strength with an empty. I don't know if it hadles intersection for the moment though. Manuel had planned once he'd use it for hair simulation:
see here:
http://engr.oregonstate.edu/~dennisa/tutorials.html
Of course, intersection handling might be a little cpu-demanding.

Well some Blender users have used this script for hair simulation with some success. I think that it's better for grass at the moment. It looks like it may really become useful one day in any case.
