View Full Version : Multiple Diffuse Maps on a single mesh?
biffen 03-18-2003, 01:10 AM Anyone know of a good tutorial on using a least 2 seperate maps for a low poly model? For example, if I wanted a 1024x1024 map for a models body and a 512x512 for his face.
I was setting the material ID's when I realized that I'm not sure how this is done. Would it be so simple as not using the same material ID twice, and applying a different map to certain polygons, respectively?

Haha!
I just solved this same exact problem in maya a couple of minutes ago.
Use multi-sub object material and set your materials there. Material 1 for Material ID 1 polygons and Material 2 for Material ID 2 polygons.
It's a matter of selecting your faces/polygons and setting the Material ID assignment in the bottom part of the modify panel of that Editable mesh.
Yes you can assign the same material ID in several parts of the mesh but those areas will receive the texture assigned in your materials editor.
