View Full Version : first XSI model: iori nagami
This is the character I'm working on now. I have changed Maya for XSI one week ago and this is my first model in the new program. I'm trying to model Iori Nagami from King of Fighters, and needs a lot of work.

I dont remind the original model, but i like a lot the modeling you are doing, nice try for a first modeling under XSI
I can't understand very well your question. I'm spanish, and my english level it's not so good. I can say you that 2 years with Maya, front 2 weeks with softimage makes me view how XSI can help me using my computer. I have not the ultimate model of video cards, my CPU is a 1700 (not bad) and my RAM memory is low, and maya needs every time more and more, but XSI make good use of my resources!
I hope can you understand me, clam_mechanic

Hya. Good work dude.
I am also curious why u switched to XSI?
What do you think to the speed of the sub-divs? Ive never used maya, ive been using softimage xsi now for about a year. I am used to the speed, but i hear it alot faster then maya, is this true?
Cheers,
Dan.

Hola, yo intentar en espanol:
Los pantalones en el fotographo son delgado en el abajo cerca de los zapatos, pero en tuyo, los pantalones son gordos.
Basically I think the pants are too wide on the bottom of your model and the shoes too round. Look at the art, the whole character is long and slim and this needs to be kept up in the model if the whole look is gonna resemble the original.
Sweet model though.

Hey JM82
this is a very nice!
The only comment is for the pants and shoes. As MediumRare mentionned they are not modeled as in the drawing. But perhaps you wanted to give it a personal touch! Then it's fine by me. Keep us updated and if you haven't posted on XSIBase.com (http://www.xsibase.com) you should!
take care and keep going!
