irc = Internet Relay Chat, it's kinda a hangover from teh early days of the internet before we got the web this was pretty much all there was.

there are several irc clients for the mac, just go over to http://www.versiontracker.com do a search for irc, and pick the one that you like the look of the most, at the moment i'm using one that's just called "irc" and it seems to suit me fine, you might prefer mIRC, there are a few others too, search around till you find what you like.

Ok, i got it and it works but there's like a million different channels to choose from. Do i have to sort thru the list to find the #Cinema4D channel or is there an easy way to locate it?? Sorry for the nube questions.

just type /join #cinema4d

although omst people from ehre are actually in cgtalk ( /join #cgtalk )

there is the german irc channel also

irc.arcor.de

/join #cinema4d

if there is anybody there, who isn't english so that's not the problem, we can speak english too :)

if you have no client installed, you don't need one !

visit my homepage and go to chat

so you can direct log in

if you come late, then there are much more people online :)
