View Full Version : Scratchmaps for free :)
Magnus3D 06-04-2007, 01:46 PM Hi everybody
These 22mb .rar packed scratchmap type textures i generated with Filter Forge, they're based upon procedurals so they're not copyrighted and i ofcourse give the archive away for free so have fun with these if you need them for your materialcreations in whatever software package you may be using. :)
Resolution is 2048x2048pix and they should all be tileable.

Thumbnail preview available?
Did you submit these to FF's library? I submitted some stuff awhile back, helps other FF users.

Eric: There are no thumbnails for these maps, sorry. But you have to trust me they're good. :) i didn't submit these because they're already submitted by another user, i only generated bitmaps of these because not everyone has FilterForge and the ability to use it to generate the maps they need and these types of scratchmaps are always useful. So here they are!
I reuploaded them again as the old link expired. For those of you who missed it the last time :)

I asked because I'm generally reluctant to d/l textures unless I can see them ahead of time. Most of the Filter Forge textures are poor quality in my opinion, authors have to work hard to avoid the procedural look.
Which filter did you generate them from? This one?

Yeap that's the one, and i tried to pick carefully only good one's which are useful. I know very well myself what works and what won't for a material.
If you got Filter Forge you can use that to generate your own or tweak that preset into a better looking scratchmap.

The free d/l site doesn't work for me. 60-sec timer, then type in a code, then it redirects me to some goofy date-a-celeb video site. What the hell? Highly suspicious.

Weird, it works just fine here. I tested the link myself. But if you're afraid or unsure about it then don't download it. However i am not that stupid so i would upload suspicious stuff and then go and post it here.

Well, I'd love to see your maps. Maybe the d/l site requires cookies, or doesn't work with Firefox 2? Curious if anyone else has been able to download...

It works with both Firefox and Opera, i tested it here. But i leave it up to you to make the decision if you wanna download them or not, i've done pretty much all i can now to offer these maps.

Hi Magnus,
I just tried to take advantage of your kind offer for scratch-maps and got this message: We're sorry, this file has expired.
Cheers,

Hiya David, did you try the latest link i posted ?! not the one in the first post because that one has indeed expired. This latest one at Depositfiles works fine!

Hi Magnus,
Thanks for the heads up. I have the right link now. Just got this: We are sorry, but all downloading slots for your country are busy.
I will keep trying!
Many thanks!
Cheers,
David ;)

Hi again :)
But no way.. that sucks to hear all slots are busy. Never have i seen that before, but i'll be mirroring this file to another place in about 30-60 minutes and then i'll be back with another link which should work for all. Hopefully..

Here we go, a second mirror. This one will however expire after a certain period. But use them both while they exist.

Magnus,
Forgot to tell you, I love the Egg Timer! When will it be on the market? ;)
All the best,

Hehe David, you've seen my eggclock now :D thanks man, i'm glad to hear you liked it. I just wish i could manufacture and sell it :( would be fun to have in the kitchen as it jumps around screaming out loud that your eggs are now cooked. :)

Hey Magnus,
You never know, it could be a huge success ... how about a short animation, with sound!
Which came first the chicken or the egg-clock? :p
Cheers,
David

Not a bad idea to do an animation of it :) i thought of doing that too but with the rendertime of about 8 hours or something like that per frame at that resoluion i need a huge farm to get it done this century heh..
Hehe, ofcourse the eggclock came before the chicken. Everyone knows that! :D i mean what else would be the point of inventing chickens if their eggs couldn't be cooked properly with this timer. :D
