This is my first post around here. Long time fan and reader but never had the time or chance to participate ><
So since a friend showed me the comp i thought i might give it a try for shits and giggles :D (No promise that i can finish on time :P )
Ive chosen Luke Skywalker - the pilot costume (go orange!)
This is my WIP so far. I kinda stopped here cos 1) i forgot u needed to put up some WIP images and 2) i got confused with some inconsistencies with the costume. After doing abit more research and taking some screenshots im going with the version that is in "The empire strikes back"... There are a few differences there.
Empire strikes back version
A new Hope Version
Dont know why i posted that so im just rambling now :P
Heres the WIP

Looks nice but there are some bad tris in his hip area :D i wanted to make a luke on myself but the darker one... but the bad thing is that you can't find many references of his head (Mark Hamill)

Just posting a quick WIP. Its slowly coming together and soon i'll start sorting out the finer details. I'll stick to a lowish poly design, going old school game character setup lol. I'll probably add the helmet ontop of his head (previous decision was to have him holding it) I feel the helmet is abit of a of "signiture" for the costume so i'll start modeling that now
C&Cs pls :)

Heres another update. Trying to finish off the model by Friday so i can unwrap over the weekend and spend the last few weeks concentrating on texturing.

You've got a really nice low poly model going there. Everything seems to match up pretty well. Before going into ZBrush or Mudbox though, I strongly recommend tweaking his face a bit. Maybe it's just me, but there needs to be a greater resemblance to Mark Hamill. It may even just require the minor tweaks of vertice locations, but make sure you get that form fleshed out.

Thx for you feedback maje3d, appreciate it. I noticed the head was missing alot and I added abit more detail into the head (sorry havent thrown up an update yet ) , however as ive said before that its abit hard to find reference for mark hamils head ><... im doing what i can but want to get the modeling wrapping up now and spend the rest of the time texturing it.

I guess the most important part is the "head".
if the head is not his, he can be any rebel who took the lightsaber!
the body looks good though.
