View Full Version : Hair problems
leonlabyk 06-03-2007, 05:52 PM I have created my characters hair for one side of her scalp and am trying to mirror it across to the other side. Does anyone have any idea as to how this can be achieved. Also my characters hair is looking like it has gel in it. I have made the hair colour black and the specular colour a very dark brown. Any thoughs are much appreciated.
Thanks,
Leon

First thing to know is how did you UV your character. Is it a mirror image of the otherside..meaning are the UVs sitting on top of each other? if they are you will need to make it so that each side of your characters UVs have their own space.
Secondly and this is manual unfortunately..every follicle will have a uv coordinate in the uv window you could determine what the coresponding uv coordinate is on the otherside and move the individual follicles into place. I think your better off just repainting follicles to match "by eye" the ones you already have.
Thirdly the paint effects hair will need considerable tweaking to make it look nice...i wish i had some magic numbers for you to plug in but unfortunatley its all about playing with the settings rendering then playing some more. lights also are important
Hope that helps and good luck!
