All maxwell 1.5 original materials ( .MXM Files ) seem to work fine
but when I used the dowloaded MXM from the official maxwell site, I got a message which says : " UVW channels ( 0 ) on object "Sphere" not enough for material "Stone Floor Tile" or somthing like that !

Could anyone give me a reasonable explanation for that .

thanks in advance

Have you posted this question in the Maxwell forum here?: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3

NL has had four staff in the forum actively answering questions and there are several beta testers/knowledgeable MWR users helping, too.

Otherwise, hope that Continuumx, the Cinema 4D/Maxwell maven that resides here, sees your post and responds. How about a pm to Continuumx?

004 Cinema 4D Materials and Maxwell Material tags or "ERROR: - object Polygon.0 has triangles without material"
This error tends to come up when you have a maxwell render tag and a cinema 4d material tag on the same object and you have not:
Dropped the cinema 4d material into the maxwell material tag texture slot.
Maybe need selection tag(into polygon selection) too... (attach)

This is still great tip, although I had not come across it again yet. (New Patch plugin of Cinemaxwell Available 6/1/2007)

If you do encounter it, and it does not go away, strip the scene down to the essentials and post it here, or screen shot of the texture tags and scene setup. I will test it and see if I can replicate the flaw.

Sounds like the old 1.1 path issue where a texture file is "missing".

If itīs looking for a jpeg or similar, try putting the image file in your scene directory and/or replace the existing image file with an identical one.

when i get the not enough uv's error i simply make sure the object is editable and then add an empty c4d mat to the object ( make it the last on the right and it has no chanels ticked so it shows as black) this seems to get rid of the error message. On some objects it may help to add the mat first amd make the projection cubic then make editable then add a maxwell taganother thing i discovered, and may help some of you, is that if you want to use a sky object for Gi AND reflection then you have to add your HDRI to the reflection chanel in the c4d mat this way it shows up on refective objects in your scene, then as usual you add this mat to the sky object and then add a maxwell sky tag and drag and drop the c4d tag onto the relavant selection area in the maxwell tag
