anim loops great and the body movement is really believable....bu i think the rope may swing a bit (not the bit dangling under his hands, well it would too but that has nothing to do with the character....) in the same direction the hand is swinging, when he jabbs his hand in there to grab it....but im only a first year so take my C&C with discretion.....

I like the animation, it loops well and the motion looks fluid.
It looks like he's letting go of the rope completely. When he's letting go of the rope with the bottom hand there's a split second that he doesn't have a hold of the rope at all when he's grabbing the rope with the top hand.
I think Beerma is right about the motion of the rope. When he's letting go of the rope with his right hand, the rope should be pulled a bit to the right, and vice verca with the left hand.
One last thing is that there doesn't look to be a whole lot of effort put into the climbing, there isn't the feeling of weight in his movement, kind of like walking on a horizontal surface with the camera turned 90 degrees to make it appear walking up a vertical surface. Try and make it look like he's pulling himself up (mabey with a bit of difficulty).
Just my opinion... :)
But regardless, you've done a very good job. Keep at it!

thanx for replies!
both of u are right about the rope. i should have animated the rope being pulled down to both left and right sde when he's pulling it.
recon: about the hands not making contact with the rope, i think it's ok to "cheat" by doing that so that the animation could be better in some ways, more snappy. but if it's visible/obvious even if played on real time then it needs refinement. as long as it's not noticed when played on real time then i think it's ok.
and yeah, it's a personal touch to put in the effort to his climbing.... sort of adding personality to the char and enchancing the animation at the same time..... thanx, really thanx for ur comments......
