humm...in the show I don't belive that the "water" was reflective at all. It probably simplified things for the effects team. The surrounding gate environement is quite nice, however the lighting seems a bit too bright for some reason.

yeah i seem to remember more of a gloomy look around the gate.

You can get a very movie/series like event horizon very simply. Make the event horizon, then slap on the water texture that comes with Max. Don't change any options and add a little noise to the plane or cylinder or whatever object you have for the horizon...

i know the "Event Horizon" is non reflective in the series.. but i like this one better because i think it was ment to be like this.. but to lower the costs of the serie they choce a non reflective one.. in the movie however it is reflective.. i read a little article why they didnt let it releflect.. its because its mayor work for the special effect artist.. and it world cost to mutch work for every serie to add the reflections..

this is really looking amazing :thumbsup: , I watch the show all the time, but.... if the mesh platform goes through the stargate ( seen clearly in the third picture ) how can the iris close? it might be like that in the series though, never really noticed

yep funny you niticed.. in the serie this is allso bugged :P trust me.. while i made the whole stargate and the gateroom i found more of this strange things :P serie is buggy as hell :P
