Title: A SUBLIME HOPE
Name: Hasan Ali Akhtar
Country: Pakistan
Software: Illustrator

Hi to all..Submitting my new work made in Adobe Illustrator named as A SUBLIME HOPE..

CONCEPT:

I wanted to make an object showing hope..And thats why made a candle showing that Hope which is still alive..It makes u feel the positive side of the life and give that courage to fight, learn and give ur level best in life..That hope will keep u alive..Thats why I have shown a burning candle in which there is still hope having that enthusiasm and passion to excel in its life further like any person in this world..

TECHNIQUE:

I have used Adobe Illustrator's gradient mesh technique again and this time consumed a lot of time to have that original feel and look of it..Worked hard to maintain and achieve that level of reflections on the surface of it..I have found those reflections really hard to control wid meshes but in the end achieved that results by the grace of God..I hope u people will really like it..Thanks..Comments and Suggestions are always welcome..Thanks for viewing..God bless u all..Keep smiling

SOFTWARE USED: Adobe Illustrator CS
TIME CONSUMED: 15 Hours

really nice work with the highlights/shadows and lighting but would like to see some detail/shadows in the white "wax" because it seems like a blob at the moment. otherwise a creative piece.

Technically, this image is very well made, considering the method. But it doesn't seem like much more than a technical exercise. It's well made, but I don't look at this image and immediately think "hope".

Your technique is good, now work on content.

Loads of thanks CNell for liking this piece and named it a creative one from my side..Much appreciated..Well u have pointed out a real good thing to me..Actually when I was making that wax I hav had this point in my mind but I have made it like that cuz of the light intensity at the top..Thats why didnt give variations in colors there..Apart from that thanks a million for liking this artwork..God bless u..Cheers:)

Nice work with vectores!
But it has an empty mood for me. Something missing...
Maybe you should use a vertical composition to give more space above the flame.

Thank u so much kbarts for liking the vectors as far as the composition is concerned I like it that way well I do respect ur suggestion as its also good one but I want to show it in a horizontal space..Thanks alot for ur suggestion and comment..God bless u..Cheers:)

Hi ario nice to see ur wonderful comment..Loads of thanks for liking the artwork so much..Am really happy u liked it..Well yeah there is a story behind..And u can see the concept which I have given there in the description..Thanks..As far as working is concerned well in Adobe Illustrator there is a tool named as gradient mesh tool..All u have to do is to put mesh points where u have to give the desired tone of color..and after the combination and variation of colors on mesh points u can make things close to reality..But yeah u have to practice alot with that tool..Its lil hard but after so many practice sessions u can learn it easily and can make things like that in vector..That tool is also there in Corel Draw but I will recommend u to use Adobe Illustrators one cuz its more refined one..

Thanks alot again for such a nice comment and admiring this artwork of mine to such an extent..God bless u..Keep smiling:)

Nicely done Hasan, IMHO the flame is a bit too tall or rather it is too close in height to the candle holder. I think it would be better if there was a difference in size betwwen the two.

Beautiful work, Hasan, I really like it.

As other have said, it could be perfected (a bit of color variation in the wax would be wonderful), but it's really a minor thing in a very good work.

As to the mood... as soon as I saw it I thought of a ritual candle, not just any candle, so yes, the feeling of hope *is* there for me.

Looking forward to your next pieces

another nice piece, hasan. I like how your tecnique is improving.

as other have said the wax is too much monochrome and is not reflecting the "warm" of the flame.

go on, i want to see other pieces by you! :)

now work on content

I agree with the above comment and I see some problems with composition as mentioned by other members and I see the flame too close to the top edge. Vertical composition would have been better.

Thank u Peter for that comment..As to me its fine but yeah thats also a valid point that vertical composition will look better there..I do respect ur suggestion..Take carez..All the best..Keep smiling..:)

Hi Hasan, I really like your concept. I’d never given much thought to the candle as an object showing hope, but I have to admit that it is a remarkably well-fitting comparison. I also like the way you present it, especially the flame has a very realistic look and it is illustrating perfectly the topic by its gentle glow. Things you could improve... hm... maybe give a bit more shade to the wax and less highlights to the candleholder, but that’s all I could recommend to give it a more realistic touch. In other respects very good job ;)
