Hi there guys and gals,
I am not a MR Pro Guy, so i am having some probs
on how to use a displacement node (with a Image File) in
new Mia Material (Maya 8,5)
Anyone could give some simple explanation on how to do that please?
Thanx in advance for any help ;)

Had you tryed the ctrl_displacement? It's really simple to setup!
Give it a look!
Oh, you can get it on mymentalray.com ;)

try also the easy way eh! plug the displacement node into the mia_materialSG.displacement and then your image into the displacement node. dont forget to use mentalray approximations for the displacement tesselation tho ;)

Thanx guys... I really apreciated your time on my question ;)

But i dont know if i did it correctly:

I pluged into ctrl_displacement a FILE (image) maya node...
and worked fine...
But if I rise the elevation value (in ctrl_displacement) , i got a weird result:
The color or Mia material starts to change (seens like
the gray scale image used seens to mix with the color image...)

Any idea what is going there? :((

Just listen to yashu ;) I never had problems with good old easy way for displacement and approximation editor, neither strange color changing as you mentioned before.
