View Full Version : Angle limitation?
manuel 05-31-2007, 01:44 PM I'm a bit puzzled about this one, it seems like such an obvious thing, but I can't seem to find it. Is it possible to give an object an angle-limitation so it will only rotate between, say, 10 and 50 degrees on a particular axis?
I know it is possible with IK, there's the settings in the IK tag. But how about doing it in FK?

There might be a better way, but it works with XPresso.
Right click on the value in AM coord. you want to restrict and choose animation>set driver.
Repeat and use animation>set driven relative.
Then double click the newly created XPresso Tag and change your settings in Range Mapper node.
eg:
input lower: -10°
input upper: 50°
output lower: -10°
input upper: 50°
be sure to check the clamp upper and clamp lower checkmark also.
This should do.

Aah I see. But I think you misread my question.
What I was looking for is a way to tell C4D that:
1. An elbow can only rotate on one axis
2. It can only rotate between a minimum and a maximum angle
Again, I know it can be done in IK but I can't seem to find any way to do it in FK.
edit: Thanks Sneaker, you posted while I was typing my answer.
