View Full Version : Earth Rotation - looped animation
Turts 05-31-2007, 07:54 AM Hi there
I'm relatively new to C4D, and I need to make a short animatin (90 frames) of the earth spinning on its axis. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to do it seamlessly, as when I change the start, middle and end points, at the halfway point it goes into reverse!
Any help would be really appreciated.
Cheers

Well, I am not really sure what you mean with “start, middle and endpoints”.
If I would animate a spheres rotation - frame 0 H 0º, frame 90 H 360º.
Then I would drag the sphere into a null, put the nulls axis at the bottom
and rotate the null about P 30º.
Open the timeline, set the Keys to Linear / in the Attributes-Manager set the
Rotation H “After” to “Repeat”.
Maybe in the Project-Settings set the Maximum to 359 frames
(that should give an even rotation and a smooth switch from 359 to 0.

Yeah, I usually just set 2 linear keys. One at 0(zer0) and the last at 359.9.
Or make a simple expresso where you pipe time through a multiply node into the H rot. Change the multiplier to taste.

If you have mograph--just drop a time effector into the heirarchy and set for object deformation. its set to H rotation by default I believe.
