Title: Hallway in Sepia
Name: Roman Kölsch
Country: Germany
Software: CINEMA 4D, Photoshop

Hi everybody!
Making this image was an attempt to achieve the look of an old photograph, that's why I kept the coloring in sepia. Modeling, Lighting and Rendering done in Cinema 4D, DOF and Colorcorrection in Photoshop. Hope you like it.
Comments and crits are welcome!

The image looks great, congrats. If I have to point something I would say that the newspapers look too straight, I would wrinkle it a bit. Anyway really great image, congrats.

Wow, really nice. Everything looks great...lighting, textures, materials. I think you did a fantastic job with the wall paper especially. Bravo!

Good job! Really!
Just wonder if you've used some kind of volume shader, or this depth is just because of DOF?

I really like this image. The texturing is superb and I love the depth of it even being a very monotoned color scheme. Nice job.

It looks peaceful, i like it.
And i think it feels would be more better that if you rendered a little bright dust in the air
But it's really good even now.
good job.

Hi guys,

thanx for your replies. I feel very flattered that you like my image.

@ suvist: adding some dust in the air is a great idea which would support the idea I had capturing this mood. I will give it a try! Thank you!

@ moulder6: I think the feeling of depth must come from the DOF. No volume shaders used!

@ mikeldi: wrinkeling the newspaper would also support the image, but I was aiming to capture a specific mood, so I did'nt care about this detail. Thank you anyway!

Some textures (including the wallpaper) are taken from "Seamless Reality Textures".

Have a nice day!

Looks very good - nice job. Couple of minor things that might help it look like an older photo: vignette the edges a bit and slightly soften the focus around the edges as well. Old lenses suffered from aberrations so the pics often got soft and dark away from center. Look around the net for some reference, you'll see what I mean.

Just a thought. :)
