I think you have done a great job love the low low poly base mesh start I will have to try that. Only one thing I think that in your second pic that yodas eyes are too high might just be me, also he should look more concentrated.

Yeah, the low poly mesh is looking good. Should really do well for you when sculpting. I've always wanted to take Yoda into zbrush (or mudbox)

This is looking great! the details are coming along nicely. I think the top of the ears that join to the head may be too high. In the front ref you used his head is slightly tilted down so this might be the case, but I could be wrong.
texture away! :D
Great modeling, but there is something wrong with the resemblance with the "real" Yoda.
Maybe the neck is too large, maybe it's something else... I think you reference picture shows Yoda's head a bit bent on the front (you see what I mean? :s), but maybe I'm wrong... you should try modifying the general shape of the head with some FFD when the detils are done (I don't think a global and little shape modification will degrade the details...).
Keep the good work! ;)

very good work.
i think yodas appearance greatly benefits from irregularities in his face. the mirrored sculpting tends to make him look boring. but i think that can be adjusted without problems.
i am looking forward to seeing your finished model
