I'd like to make a mirrored copy of an object but when I use symetry I really have one object still; Duplicate doesn't seem to mirror; and mirror seems to still leave me with just one object, which seems odd.

What im looking for is a "saparate" object that is a mirror of another object.

Please can you help me.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

You could always put it in a symmetry object and then make it editable. This will leave you with just one object, but if you copy the object and just delete the points on one side for each, you'll have two. (As in, if you've got one object with sides A and B, copy it, then delete the points for side A on one, side B on the other.)

The quickest way is to duplicate your object and scale it -1 along the mirrored axis with your axis center set to the 0 point on the mirror plane ( or just move your object after the scale.).
