suztv 05-30-2007, 02:27 PM I used aftereffects for a really hokey video for a competition at work. Any suggestions or comments on how to improve the sad thing are welcome. I used Time-remapping and Trapcode Particular, but I really don't know how to make this any better. Help in any form is welcome. And yes I know it is really corny.

it won't play for me, it just says "loading..." and never loads... weird. I'll keep trying.
i was able to watch the "scissors" video on the Moxie site, though. :)

Hey suztv, funny vid. Hmmm big balls. I got two suggestions, nothing real major, this is an easy going video and adding alot of this would ruin it but I'm assuming you used the text tool for all the ouches and the text on the black screen, you should try having each letter of each word bounce in like it was a ball and form the word. Really easy with some per letter position changes on the text itself. Other than that, I don't know if it was intentional or not but at around 16 seconds you have a random frame jump, it's when the 4 guys are spinning around the balls and before you reverse the video there is a jump to a brownish kinda screen, I don't kno what it was, seeing it was only one frame, but if it was intentional, play with the color a little better, everything is blue, and the color change was noticeable.
Nice vid though.

The jump that you noticed was my attempt to get You tube to put the image that I wanted for the video thumbnail - it didn't work.
Also this was for a stupid contest at work and we had to keep it under 30 seconds (hence the really superfast Benny Hill type action).
But that is a cool idea - if I expand on it I will certainly do the letter bounce in.
Also, the camera had a smudge on the lens - that I didn't notice until I brought it over to the computer. Plus I did all of the editing in about 4 hours because I had to post it in time for the contest... But now that it is over I will certainly do something different with it. I was thinking of a Sepia Tone with some old time film scratches and stuff.
Glad you liked it though.
For the others that can't view it - some people have had problems, I don't know why. Even I had problems here at home - my mac can play it and my pc just hangs. My PC at work plays it and my mac at work hangs. Weird.
