I kinda like the idea of the Falcon on the back of the star destroyer from episode 5.
BTW like your avatar! if i'm right that's Garth from Knightrider who was the evil brother of Michael knight. I'm a big knight-rider fan.

Anyway good luck

1. Cloud City Landing Platform

I should have chosen a "Subject" with less parts lol... I forgot how many millions of little parts the Falcon is made up of...and covered with...LOL...

I've found some really great pics of various Prop Replicas etc...I may break down and go buy a model too...just to hold pieces in my hands too.

looks like a good start to me....i only have but one request....I plan to do my falcon shooting out of the death star 2 from RotJ, so if at all possible could you take that out of consideration...not trying to make a decision for you...just thought it would be best if we didnt end up making the same thing entirely....lol

Hi Projectkmo!

Thanx for your reply to my Slave 1 WIP!
Here´s a Link to some highdetailed Pics of the MF. I send this to robor3687, maybe you saw this before. If not here it is, to make it equal for both of you.

a little update... started on the landing gears... here are a few ideas so far

so many models of the Falcon have small variations in every part...that I'm just sort of modeling things based off of images of several different models... so some of what I make is a combination of the various refrences im using.

Not a lot to show today... I've got a test to study for.. but here's a little more of the Radar Dish..though Its not done yet... and I tossed some of the items I've made so far...together for a screen shot.

well..Imageshack is on the fritz..so we'll see if I have room to host them on my CGTalk acnt..

none of this is final or exact... just put them all in the same sceen for a quick look is all.

in sticking with my technical terminology I've decided to call this the Top/Bottom Round Thingy

this is the part the cannons mount to. Also has the windows in them...for the gunners to see out.

Cannons are next

Very technical indeed! Despite the terminology, you seem to have a really good handle on things. It's very interesting to see you flesh sections out, pretty much in full detail, right away. Looking forward to more updates.

Going out with the GF tonight so I doubt I'll have much to post till tomorrow.

I love Mental ray.
Maxwell renderer and vray are good too.
It depends on what kind of 3d package you are using.
Maxwell renderer takes around 8-9 hours for a frame of an architectural scene.
But the result is unique. I don't know if it's available for Max or MAYA!
Lightwave has an awesome renderer too.
If its a frame it worth it to export it to lightwave and render it there.
