Does anyone remember the name of a human skin texturing program that was around in 1997?
It was for the face primarily(I think) and procedurally generated blemishes, acne, freckles.....

The ads for it had a male mermaid(merman?) and another image used was a goofy looking boxer.

I saw a demo at Siggraph in '97 and it seemed like it would be advanced even for today. It is suprising the program went by the wayside because it would have been phenomenal if that '97 program had an additional 10 years of technology.

Are you talking about Digits 'n Art's Flesh program perhaps?

Yes, that's it. I didn't do an exhaustive Google search but this link is the main thing I found on them: http://www.dnasoft.com/

They just have a coming soon web page.

Are they just reforming their company and product after a long hibernation? I haven't heard anything about them for many years.

There was also another one, Amazon 3d paint, the name. Both were really old ones, I remember some ads in Digital Magic mag (a slip into CGW) centuries ago :)
I think they were for Irix only though.
