View Full Version : max installation probs. - need help!

Anyone run into a 1335 error, "3dsmaxSetup2.cab" is corrupt. I cant install MAX!!! Something about a corrupt cabinet file.

I've got max 5.1 on windows xp, dell.

Never had a problem myself. Give Discreet's tech support a call, that's what they're there for.

Hmm, I read that 5.1 is only supported on win2k and XP prof.
Although I think it should work on home edition, it may be the problem...

"Note: 3ds max 5.1 is officially supported on Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional only "

how can the cab on the installation cd be corrupt :shrug:

...but of course, the installation shouldn't have anything to do with compability.
If u have downloaded you max ( :eek: ) download it again, or, try booting before installing, or try closing all programs running in the background and so on... :p

I'm running XP pro.

I even tried to install a demo version of MAX 5 on a seperate cd and got the same error.

Anyway, I'll try to talk to Discreet tech support today and see what happens.

Disable your anti virus software before you install.
