Title: Airport Gateway
Name: Tobias Borgert
Country: Germany
Software: 3ds max, AutoCAD, Photoshop, VRay

I decided to share my newest picture with you for any critiques and comments.
Total time needed was about 2 days, time for modeling in 3ds max, shading and rendering with V-Ray renderer and photo matching the rendered gateway into the source image, included.

On this picture, a new gateway is shown, which shortens the way between the several departure and arrival gates on an airport. It should leave it possible for the restaurant's guests to watch the departing and arriving planes, even if the gateway is built. That's why the the "tube" is contructed mainly out of glass and stal.

So, what do you all think of it, especially if you kepp an eye on the fitted 3d-model of the gateway?

The idea and your rendering looks fine. But your perspective of your tube is NOT correct, so it kind of makes it look out of place. What I mean is the vanishing point of your image is not the same for your Tube, and it should be. Basically, If you were to draw a straight line from your the start of the window's frame (top and bottom) from the left side of your image, to the right. Eventually they will intercept. Your Tube should eventually intercept that same point in space.

I hope that makes sense, if not I'll give you an example.

okey, good imagination, but I think you 'd better down the light inside and give the glass more reflection.:)

I disagree about the glass reflection, and dimming the lights. The before photograph was too dark to make out the people clearly, etc. and so I understand why the artist lightened the photo. However, I do agree that the perspective is slightly off. Also, the tube just suddenly stops - what happens to it in the final window panels?

Thank you for all your comments.

Many viewers of this image thought of an accidential ending of the tube on the right side. But this makes sense, since there is a mirror in the restaurant that blocks away the further sight to the right and some of the airport exterior on the backside. -- Not easy to recognize at first view.

Teriander -- Why do you think, the perspective is wrong? Would be nice, if you can share some tips or enhancements via pn or so :)

Why one of the poles ends on the parking lot?
