It works pretty well, although it's not as integrated as the Maya plugin is, but still usable. They have plugins for both version 5 and 6 XSI.
That sounds really exciting! Bring on the Vray render aswell!
Does anyone have any screengrabs or renders of maxwell?
Please post them if you can...

i see what you mean about it not being so integrated. Looks like you can't make materials in the standard way and I guessing they didn't show the render region for a good reason...
Oh well, it's promising news anyhow!!

Yeah I'm definitely underwhelmed - 'specially at the $995 price point...
After seeing the video, I thought perhaps a coupla hundred, $300 max (if even that) - I'm happy with my Mental Ray...

that demo isnt that impressive, but check out the maxwell gallery, lots of really nice stuff and as far as you can push MR id say it doesnt quite reach up to the same level of realism, no matter what you do.

Hi, yes I'm familiar with Maxwell but also important is how you're able to access the Maxwell features from XSI - that didn't look all that good IMO...
Granted, at least there is a hook for anyone willing to work with it.
