Hey folks!

this is truly amazing, we have got the chance to show our true colors for the ppl using CGtalk!

and for that, I will post one of my most satisfied renders with Blender (post process with PhotoShop)

http://m1.402.telia.com/~u40211229/www/gallery/3d/cells.jpg

I hope you enjoy it!!

Btw,
I am a 33 year old guy, from Sweden, who have used Blender for about exact 2 years now, and it is really fun to see the evolution for Blender !

if someone needs to know more about me,
just drop me a line ;)

cheers!

Haya cool!

NorMapping? hehe... i like it!

here are my most satisfying renders (strangely enough, they rarely include humans...)

and for the WChallenge:

This one is still a wip, cause i'm waiting for further enhancement of Yafray and Wavk's material editor. Yafrayed.

This one is pure blender, shows off some shading techniques:

I used this one for my audiovisual exam, the movie got 18/20, but most of the mark was blablah...

hehe, even if it's not the best CG work done all around, I'm still pretty proud of it ;)

And with some friends we're working on a short movie called Tr... oups, I mustn't say it!

Enjoy!

Please, more details on how you did that crome shader..... I'm in love with it.

It is pure blender or have external help?

these images are all based on the same technique (i'd call it envmap lightning) and are PURE Blender

I first used it to do a cel-shading effect, but then I played with it...
here's the tut i wrote (first in french, then kino translated it to Italian, and i converted it back to english):
Cel-Shading technique in blender (http://www.kino3d.com/Blender-AL/index.php?theme=1&level=4&question_id_select=162&chapitre_id_select=51&document_id_select=24)

once you've accomplished this tut (tell me if you get stuck anywhere) you unselect the SHADELESS button in the material panel, and in the texture panel you reduce the FILTER value.

Tell me if you can't get it to work.

Really interesting.

How comes that you aren't experimenting with the 'draw edges' option of the renderer to make Cartoon Network alike shaders?

Because there's not much experimenting to do there: you click on it and there goes! you get an edged render. Of course you can use it with the cel shading technique.

I must add that there are other cel-shading techniques and that a cartoon shader has been directly added into the experimental blender tree as well as Oren-Nayar-Blinn shading by Cessen. However, they might not allow so much playin around as this one.

It's getting late here!
