hi,,

you know in an opacity map you have black and white to represent 0/100% opacity...
is there a way in mental ray sss to create a map so that some parts of the object let light through and others dont? if you could let me know in 3dsmax terms please.. ;)

Sorry I'm not a Max user any more, but the white in the Overall map (Maya) lets light through and black blocks the light.

If that doesn't help I'm sure there is a Max user out there to help you.
