Lets share the fun.

Tell us for which projects you used wings for and how it helped?

I started using wings for the LOTR challenge. It was my first character model , and frankly i couldnt have modelled it in maya the way i did it in wings.

Now I am using wings for all the modelling on a commercial we are shooting , I'll keep you guys updated on that soon.

How about you guys? , tell us some real world projects you used wings on.

Used Wings3D for my first ever cgchallenge (it was Post Apocallyptic Challenge), for my latest challenge (lotr one), and for two game art competitions on the other forum (cgchat.com), and won one of them ;), so it qualifies as a succes I think.... And now Wings is my first thought whenever I have to model almost anything.

I had spent a few months learning other software applications and being kind of frustrated. 3ds Max hadn't implemented their poly tools yet, spline-modeling never clicked with me, and I found a little site called Spiraloid. Watching Bay Raitt go was eye-opening, and I checked out his cheap tool Nendo.

Well, we all know that story, and I stumbed upon Wings a few days later. Everything I've done successfully has been linked to Wings. The workflow clicked immediately and I've loved it since.

I've done various business graphics modeled in Wings, and a few VFX shots for local filmmakers (mostly in Max, but Wings for limited modeling). I'm planning on taking Wings with me when I'm old enough to get hired in a studio.

We just used Wings to create a trade fair booth!
We converted the data from Wings back to NURBS via Maya, then created the CNC ready stuff from that NURBS data.
It worked like a charm.
The booth is for 'Salone Satelite' in Milan (part of the international furniture exhibition there).
It looks veeery organic. I'll post photos & wireframes in mid april when the show is over.
