It might be best that you startwith my DVD series at http://cg-academy.net There is more to learn on the subject then just making some muscles and linking them into a rig. Making a muscle is easy, where to place them, when to use them and how to skin to them isn't as easy.

hey modelviz, you can use bones insted of geometry
just change them same muscles, and pual showed us how to do that easly,
the best solution is adding an edit poly modifier on the bone you want it to work like muscle. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

The arnold rig is really an old test and a bad example of how I use them day to day. This rig here (http://paulneale.com/technical/troll/trollTechnical.htm) is a better example of what I'm doing. Modeling the muscles usualy isn't nessesary at all unless you are planning on using Skin Wrap on them or tool like Skin FX (http://www.lumonix.net/skinfx.html) where skin sliding will be used. If you are just going to use the stretchy properties of the bones then just skin to them. I cover skinning in DVD#4, basic work flow is I skin to every thing else and then start adding the muscle bones as nessesary to get the deformations that I need. Also if you have Max 8 have a look in the samples folder for Maxine, seen here (http://paulneale.com/technical/maxine/maxineTechnical.htm), as she uses several methods to get the final result.
