Title: the freak - autumns last leaf
Name: Lincoln Renall
Country: New Zealand
Software: Photoshop
I started by doing it in oils on canvas, then taken into photoshop.
overpaint of my original oil painting was then done. Photo reference was used for the grass in the lower foreground.
image still needs a few hours of cleanup and integration at this stage.
Was going for a freak of nature, gasping at loosing her last leaf before winter rolls in.

Fantastic painting...it´s great to know that you used oil on canvas and the background look´s preatty equalized. Just add more grass leafs to hide some parts from the roots and more contrast to the scene. Keep the good work.

I like this very much, ncie environment. my only crit is that theres beautiful texture in the roots and the branches are almost smooth. good job.

thanks for the feedback all :-)
pretty much confirmed all the things i was thinking were slightly lacking.....
the branches need to be a bit more textural like the roots, and some foreground grass overlap/integration with the roots.
Cnell:....funny you should say that about the breasts looking too perky....my girlfriend was just saying the same thing too :-).....trying to decide if they need to be rotated slightly around the torso towards her left arm by a few degrees.....
hope to post a finished version in about a week.....
The one thing im most happy with is that the clouds/sky and land all seem to draw the eye towards the leaf in mid air......
anyway.....cheers for the crits all, most helpful
