Bah, my other thread was deleted.

Hi, I'm new. This is a model I made of my bedroom, comments and criticisms welcome. The modelling isn't that advanced or that good, but the image was well recieved on www.deviantart.com so I will share it here, too.

http://analogbubblebath.net/~crayon/my_graphics/v1final002.jpg

Modelled with 3ds max 4.
about 110,000 polys.

Thanks for looking! :)

I can be contacted at sbv20@yahoo.com if you have something to say/ask in private.

thats a very original idea!

As bitmap said , with textures and a good lighting you'll have one solid piece

ehh... textures are so hard, though!

Anyone have lighting suggestions? I'm pretty bad at lighting.

The modeling is superbe, very good attention to detail and scale.

Texrures would make it even better

But even makeing the windows see thought woudl be good, it woudl also let more light on the subject.

BTW, so your saying you like in a cardboard box ;):airguitar

interesting concept! I like it!

It would look absolutly SWEET with textures tho, an omni light for the lamp!

omni lights are poo. I might make the lightbulb (it's in there, just cant see it in these angles) emit light.

I am sad to hear that u live in a box with no colours :surprised

HeHe...j/k....very nice render. Just wondering did u use the free trial version of Brazil to do that? I tried to download the trail version but I cant find it on their site.

hey it's altermind! yo..

No, I used the full Brazil r/s. The demo has been brought down temporarily, but they do expcet it back up before too long, last I checked.

Yeah they said it would be back up soon about a million times, I seem to remember it being a problem with the name...I dont rememeber.

Anyway, i saw it on deviantart, and I think i like the smaller version with the white boarder better.

cool rendering...
besides the lacking of textures, you also should have a look at the blanked of the bed

In luma server, set area light as prime light source and sky as secondary, then you put a area light somewhere in the scene from above, and you get nice light. With just sky as prime light, it gets to blue and un-lighted, you realy need a real light source as well.

Or with skylight as prime, turn the color to pale gray, and turn up the multiplier, and you get a nice overcast day :)

You might want to try out object based light as well, though that makes things quite grainy with stamp-big pixels :) (in the light radius)
