I took a break from animating on my student project and did some landscaping. I will add some depth of field eventually. Everything is made in lightwave 7. This shot took 1 hr. to render at 1000 x 500.

There are new renders at my website! (http://www-personal.umich.edu/~nwatts/)

I love it.
I'm not familar with lightwave, but how'd you do the grass?

Thanks. For the grass I used a plugin called Sasquatch. I was also able to bake the shadows into it and decrease the render time for the grass 10 fold.

WHen you bake shadows what happens if your camera is moving does it look weird?

well that looks very well done,, if it had a better sky,, and without the text,, I would say its perfect.. the big text,,, I runnnn,, ahhhhh

that grass and trees are awesome,, I wouldn't know where to start.

maybe one other thing,, the dirt trail looks kinda tiled,, needs more random-ness,, less spots on it,,, it almost looks like a photoshop cloud filter messed with... its not that bad,, but looks that way too me. =D

excellent stuff,

Thanx for the feedback guys..=)

The shadows are baked into the color so if the camera moves they are fine. You can even delete an object and the shadow will stay. It actually took less time to make my bake that it did to render 1 frames w/ "Recieve Lightwave Shadows" on. For some reason Sasquatch takes way way way too long w/ that on. So much it is unuseable for me. There is actually no self shadowing on either. I just don't have enough CPU power.

This is a still from my second shot of my animation, so there won't be the text there in the final. We I get some time I will render some other stills from it. I am just finishing the clothing and hair up for my charcters so I don't have much time w/ school ending. I have been able to get fully dynamic clothing to work in motion designer but it took a couple weeks.

excellent environment! i love the subtle change of texture on the dirt fromn the road to the path.

my only comment ans the small bush on the left side. it seems too symetrically placed... move it over to the left more, so it's kinda hiding behind the fence post a little. of course i could just be being picky...
