Has there been a trial version of C4D EE released yet?
I'm looking on their site right now but i can't see any indication of an EE trial version...
If a trial is, in fact, unavailable, can you tell if the studio bundle demo takes iges files? Or any other major nurbs exchange format?
there is no trial version available beside the standard demo for CINEMA 4D R10. This version does not include IGES support.

the EE IGES support is perfect, much better than other APPS' IGES support such as 3D Max.

I'll take your word for it then :)
It would have been nice to give it a swirl though - wanted to know how would it handle large
amounts of geometry - as i am not used/don't have the time to generate meshes out of objects. Just import into maya and let mental ray take on tesselating at rendertime - it's just that once in a while it generates millions of polygons and frankly my system can't allways take it and just not allways enough time to optimize and tweak everything.
Is there such an option in C4D EE? - render time tesselation -
No, rendertime tesselation is not an option in CINEMA
