LordShaitan 03-16-2003, 07:59 AM Greetings all, it isnt much, but id like to see what people think of thse posters i amde for a project. They double as a menu system for a director movie, but i want to know if they look good enough to be old war posters. Comments?

I enjoy those posters. They look like they were actually taken from ww2 hehe
I really like the 2nd and 3rd ideas.
the second reminds me of some great xerography work that was popular in the early 90's when folks were toying with zines. However, over all cool. the Halftones picked up in the Mushroom blast are really cool.
the 3rd for it's cuts and contrast, good typography, and the antique touches to the edges looks really great. Bold and high contrast.
As for the first, the design is cool, but the text didn't grab me as much with it being at a tilt. the over all layout looks good, having the strong division of black and a saturated red, but agian the text if straight forward would be just as good for me. Maybe trying a more classic face might do the trick, Century gothic, or maybe Futura. Something a bit more plain and/ or industrial. Maybe even like a large bitmap font. the red one reminds me of a champaign for a provider a few years back..
Good work though:thumbsup:

really good, in the first one the perspectives off on the text though,
and you've unfortunatly spelt SCULPTURE - SCUPLTURE

Thank you very much for the feed back.
I knew i was ging to spell something wrong, thankfully this isnt for my portfolio :)
As far as the first one and the perspective of the words, i was going to have one have the lower line of the perspective being flat, but in doing so and making the rest of the text follow the ever increasing line of perspective would have led to a reall distorted text.
Ohhh, BTW if you guys want to see what the 3rd sign loks like without the text, go back to the page, i updated it to show the ign without the text.

Well i agree with you two, i dont think they look like they came from WW2, the only one that would truly be that would be the first one. And it stil sint up to par. Again these are my first attempts and completed within an hour or two.
