When I make a model from scratch in Wings3D everything is just fine.
When I import a model 3ds or lwo sometimes there are funny looking blue faces in the model.
In the model I am working on now, I have tried to re-assign the face to a different material.
The only method I have found so far for cleaning up these models is to delete the bad section then rebuild it.
This is okay for smaller models. But for larger models it can be very time consuming.
So the question is: Is there a clean up tool, or method?
Can these faces be backwards? Is there such a thing here? I know in other modeling programs the direction of the face is very important. Is that the case here? If so, how do I invert the direction of a face?
Can it be that the other program has stuffed several faces on top of each other? If so, is there a tool to remove redundant faces?
Sorry of the rather malformed questions. As mentioned earlier, when I build from scratch there is no problem. Since I only get these issues from other people's models I have few clues on what they may have do to create such a problem. All I know is that when the model is imported into Wings3D there is a blue face (or more).
Regards, and thanks for any help.
